The system is serious about receiving an annual accounting from you, prepared within the rules the system has (more or less clearly) laid out. Tax Return Preparation is a process of:
- Assembling and organizing the necessary source documents sent to you, such as W-2’s and 1099’s of various types.
- Assembling and organizing data for rental properties, small businesses, and other parts of the tax return which generally are kept and summarized by the individual.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations and application to a particular situation.
- Experience with IRS/State of Michigan and application of that experience to a particular situation.
- Frequently an iterative process, in which I prepare a draft return which the client reviews.
- Individual tax returns start at $395; Partnership and Corporation returns start at $595.
